Variety Parisienne
Origin:
this variety from Vinay area, in Isère department, is most of all farmed on the left bank of river Isère, at the foot of mountain Vercors. It is one of the AOC “Noix de Grenoble”.
The tree:
- very good vigour
- semi-erected to semi- spread out bearing
- late bud-breaking (end of April, beginning of May), usually avoiding spring frosts
- rather impervious to blight and anthracnose
- pollinators : Meylannaise and Ronde de Montignac
The fruit:
- big size, round walnuts, more than 80% of them are generally over 30 mm long
- thin shells, that may have joining defaults
- yellow kernels, sometimes lightly dark
