Variety Ronde de Montignac
Origin:

this variety coming from Dordogne is mainly used as a pollinator in France.

The tree:

  • rather strong vigour
  • semi-erected bearing
  • late bud-breaking (April 25th - May 4th), usually avoiding spring frosts
  • blossoming: its female blossoming occurs rather late (May 11th - 22nd), largely overlapping its late anthesis (May 16th - 26th); catkins appear very quickly on young trees and their quantities become very abundant very quickly on older trees.
  • good yield, slightly lower than Franquette’s, rather quick fruiting

The fruit:

  • small size round walnut
